Description
One of my favorite waterfowls to photograph are the Trumpeter Swans that tend to be seen in the area near Lake Erie. They are the largest waterfowl in North America and the heaviest. Their wingspan can get to 6.5 feet, and they can weight up to 30 pounds. They are fun to watch take off since they run quite a while before they can liftoff. Trumpeters also make a huge honking noise that certainly gets your attention. They mate for life and to see them with their cygnets is especially exciting. This pair was seen in the evening golden hour and it cast such pretty light and colors on them and the frozen winter water.
